Born in Rajahmundry and raised in Hyderabad, Hussain Sha Kiran began as a short-film maker, writing stories and dialogue before directing the work himself.
His first feature as director, Meeku Meere Maaku Meme, released in 2016. He later directed the Telugu ZEE5 series Anaganaga and returned to the thriller form as writer and director of Mrithyunjay in 2026.
His writing work includes the base story for Sukumar’s Nannaku Prematho and years of research with an additional-screenplay credit on Pushpa: The Rise.

Hussain Sha Kiran

Born into the Satyavolu family, Kiran was named for the Sufi saint Hussain Sha, whose lineage his grandparents followed through the Vishwa Vigyana Adhyatmika Peetham in Pithapuram. He describes the Peetham’s teaching as centred on humanity rather than religion.
